Poem: Strange Memories: (haiku in variations)

Pexels.com

1)

Strange memories gloat

like unwanted souvenirs

old baggage sneaks in

2)

like odd acrobats

spinning impossible shapes

cobwebbing my mind

3)

I try to escape

but they always remind me

taunting like bullies

4)

I still remember

calling the cops on my dad

Mom apologized

5)

called it false alarm

she thought we couldn’t survive

without breadwinning

6)

She put up with him

for most of her life because

she thought she had to

7)

I think what I need

is a mind mountain retreat

meditation peace

8)

Time’s amnesia

is half healer, half victim.

forgive what you can.
