Poem: Model Minority

In the battle for racial equality

It’s All of us not some

All of us or none.

Don’t ask me to prop

your minority flag up

When you won’t admit

You’re leaving us out

of the racial equity skit

All the political correctness

You’re not fooling me

I’m going to speak up

Instead of sitting down

Silent like you want me to be

you’re used to us being invisible

Compliant uncomplaining

Model Minority

that’s why I’m challenging your training

mentions the discrimination of

Blacks 50%

Latinos 30%

Native Americans 19%

Asians 1%

I thought this work sponsored training

was called Racial Equity

I call bullshit

that’s why you’re ignoring me.

  2. My own life has taken me to being among Asian people, time and again. All are worthy of equal treatment-the “loud” ones, yes, and also the quiet, diligent ones.
