Poem: Literary

During high school lunch

I went outside

even in the snow

because I had no one.

I sat with my pen and book

wrote poetry as food.

I wasn’t starving

and the cafeteria was gross

pocketed the lunch money

like my own bully

The poet bully…

Some cool kids on the inside

thought my poetry writing was cool

Avant garde.

I was a high school poet

aka virgin super invisible

    1. Yes, but now poets are admirable, though probably still lonely❤️

It’s better to be lonely with substance than popular and vacuous, in my opinion.

    1. I agree, so much pressure to conform to popularity, high school was a miserable time for me, college was comparatively heaven.

Being a teenager in general is pretty miserable. Glad those days are over. 🙂
